Meet the Team

Here at The Autism Practice we have a team of Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Assistant Psychologists, and our admin support. We bring together our skills in and experience of working with neurodivergent individuals and their families to provide tailored assessment and support.

We've recently welcomed some new clinicians to the team so please bear with us whilst we're updating the information on this page over the next few weeks.

Dr Kate Baldry
Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead

Kate is the Clinical Lead for The Autism Practice, leading the assessment and post-assessment services. Kate has been working in independent practice for almost 8 years. She qualified as an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist in 2013. Prior to moving into independent practice Kate worked in the NHS for over 8 years. Kate started her career in clinical psychology as an Assistant Psychologist working with autistic young people and has worked within autism, learning disability, and child and adolescent mental health services over the course of her time in the NHS.

Kate is trained in a range of diagnostic assessment tools for autism and ADHD and therapeutic interventions. She is particularly passionate about recognising the impact for many neurodivergent individuals and their families of having to navigate and fit in with a world which is often not great at accepting and supporting difference, and supporting those she works with to embrace their individuality and build lives that are fulfilling for them.

Kate’s approach is professional, open, and candid. Her work often focuses on supporting others to understand and make sense of their experiences. Kate is a big fan of Lego, responsible for the various Lego models that can be seen around the clinic. She also works hard to keep the house plants in the clinic alive and well.

Dr Laura O’Halloran
Clinical Psychologist

Laura has a background working in child and adolescent mental health and paediatric psychology, as well as experience of working with neurodiverse children and young people. She is an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist who has worked in the field of clinical psychology for almost 15 years, working across settings including within NHS teams, prior to independent practice. Laura has experience of working with Looked After Children and brings this knowledge and understanding to her work with the team. Laura contributes to the team’s diagnostic assessment of children and young people who may be autistic and/or have ADHD.

Katie Haji-Miller
Assistant Psychologist

Katie has worked in the field of psychology for over 7 years and has worked in both the NHS and private sector before joining the practice. She has a degree in Applied Psychology (BSc) and is working towards qualifying as a Counsellor. Katie has experience of working therapeutically with both adults and children. She contributes to the team’s diagnostic assessments of autism and ADHD in children and young people, often liaising with schools and completing cognitive assessments. Katie is also helping to develop our early support pathway under the supervision of the Clinical Psychologists in the team, working with neurodiverse children and young people who are experiencing difficulties managing feelings of anxiety and anger, and those who experience specific phobias and may be experiencing low self-esteem.
